Pricing Your PPV and Bundles: A Simple Framework for Creators
Stop guessing your prices based on vibes. Here's how to price your content so it actually sells without leaving money on the table.
okay so if you've ever just picked a ppv price because it "felt right," same. most of us price based on what we see others doing or what feels comfortable. the problem? that's not a strategy, that's a guess.
let me walk you through how i actually price things now so they sell without me underselling myself.
before you set any price, know your floor — the minimum you'll accept for your time, effort, and content. this isn't about being cheap, it's about making sure you never undersell yourself out of habit. your floor depends on your production cost, your audience's spending power, and how exclusive your content is. write it down. that's your baseline.
for individual ppv content i keep it simple — standard content is your floor price (this is your bread and butter), premium content is 1.5x to 2x your floor (higher production value, more exclusive), and custom requests are always quoted individually and always above your floor. if you wanna understand why knowing your own business matters before you outsource any of this, check out why you should understand your business before hiring a manager.
bundles are where it gets fun because they feel like a deal to the fan while earning you more per transaction. the rule is simple — a bundle should always cost less per item than buying individually but generate more total revenue for you. like if a single ppv is $15, a bundle of three might be $35. the fan saves $10, you earn $35 in one transaction instead of hoping they buy three separate times. everyone wins.
but here's the thing — pricing isn't set it and forget it. track what sells and what doesn't. if a ppv at $20 sells to 30% of recipients, try $25 next time. if it drops to 10%, you went too far. this is why tracking which content makes you money matters so much — without data you're still just guessing.
and i know a lot of us underprice because we're afraid fans will leave. but here's the truth — the fans who leave over a fair price weren't your best customers anyway. the ones who stay spend more, respect your work, and become your regulars. price with confidence, track the results, adjust. that's the whole thing.
